National Agency Convention

The National Agency Convention was in Vegas this year. State Farm put on a show. I don't even sell insurance but I feel pumped up to sell it after these couple of days.

Our baby is now 18 weeks old & really enjoyed our trip to Vegas as well {mainly because we ate REALLY good every night}

The first night we ate at Texas de Brazil. Chris has been wanting this for several months now.

Describing the Texas de Brazil experience: Waiters walk around with different types of meat, put it on your plate and will let you stuff yourself until you couldn't possible eat anymore. The delicious meats they serve: Prime rib, flank steak, filet mingnon, filet mingnon wrapped in bacon, lamb chop, pork chops, parmesan chicken, bbq chicken, pork rib, pork loin, picanha, chicken wrapped in bacon.

We watched the Texas Tech game online. Tech Edged out Nevada 35-34 in the last 45 seconds. Glad we didn't have to miss it.

We went to a Chinese restaurant and I did order ribs { Chris is still making fun of me for this} Baby gets what baby wants.

The convention was held at the University of Las Vegas' basketball arena. You are looking at thousands of State Farm agents from United States and Canada. I sang the Canadian national anthem twice. { two more times then I every have in my life }
This was at the The Range- an amazing Steak House my dad recommended. Some how they got our reservation was for Prathui.
We lost a total of $4 at the slots, but I did find a $10 bill in my coat pocket I got out from the back of my closet.... So I feel we came out on top.

This was at the Don Henley concert {The Eagle's lead singer} He sang all the good songs , even a Neil Diamond song- Sweet Caroline. The only song we didn't hear was Take it Easy but we have been singing it all day.

It was such a fun trip!

Welcome to Month 5

Week 17

Size of Baby: Baby P is 5.9 oz {the size of my palm} 5.1 inches

Baby's Heartbeat on last visit: 155

Maternity Clothes: Not yet but I really like wearing anything that does not touch my stomach.

Gender: Will find out soon!

Name: several possibilities- Chris thinks I’m terrible at naming (I agree) I think when we know if it’s a boy or girl we will start narrowing the names down.

Movement: I can feel “quickening” when I’m laying still. The baby loves to dance around when Chris sings or whistles. I can’t wait till he can feel movement.

What I Miss: running without walking, not crying after Sarah Mclachlan commercial.

Cravings: all kinds of fruit especially oranges, with a little salt sprinkled to make a good combo between sweet & salty.

Symptoms: I am having these weird nosebleeds & gums bleeding when I brush my teeth.

Best moment of the week: Lighting a fire in our fireplace. It only got down to 54 degrees but we all enjoyed it.

Week 16

Week 16- So I decided Stephanie is on to something. On her blog she has titles every week and fills them out. So smart because I keep forgetting things I might want to remember later on.

Size of Baby: Baby P is 3.5 oz {the size of an avocado} 4.6 inches

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Back to starting weight

Maternity Clothes: Not yet but I really like wearing dresses

Gender: Will find out soon!

Movement: I am not sure but when I'm lying in bed & Chris sings or talks it sometimes feels like I'm on a roller coaster.

Sleep: I'm still exhausted after school and have no trouble sleeping at night. I probably could take a nap from 6-7 pm and still sleep through the night.

What I Miss: running without walking, seafood, not crying after Sarah Mclachlan & Huggies commercials

Cravings: Oranges from United, Lasagna and enchiladas from anywhere.

Symptoms: Not getting sick anymore!

Cooking with Kylie

Tonight we decided to grill out burgers. To go with the burgers I made my special hot serendipity potatoes. It's been a while since I made them so I had to pull down my cookbook.

{Stephanie gave this to me for Christmas and I have been filling it with recipes since.}

The potatoes are pretty easy to make. The trick is to flip them every 10 minutes. It takes longer but it is worth it. This recipe happened on accident. I was trying a new recipe and I didn't have hot pepper, seasoned salt or real
butter, so I substituted. Let me say this is the first time I improvised my cooking and it actually tasted good. I normally have to be a rule follower when it comes to cooking.

KP's Hot Serendipity Potatoes

Ingredients:
3 medium potatoes cut into chunks
1/3 melted "I can't believe it's not Butter"
1 envelope herb and garlic soup mix
3 Packets of Chicken Express Hot Serendipity

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl & pour onto a cookie sheet. Bake uncovered at 450 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Turning every 10 minutes.
If you don't have time to turn them or you like them softer use a baking pan and cook for 45-50 minutes.

Chris made the burgers. He did such a great job as usual. He always marinates them for a long time so the burgers are nice a juicy. For dessert we had Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches!
Lexi begging for a piece of dinner . She loves when we grill out too!

pregtarded

My normal, quick brain has left. I do miss it and I wish it would come back soon.
I first noticed this little quark when I was setting up my first appointment with the doctor. The receptionist ask me what my SS# was...The number I have had memorized since I was ten signing up for slow-pitch softball... I blanked. Chris had to start it for me and it came back.
I have been holding a bank bag in my hand and completely forget what I am doing.
I went to Wal-Mart and forgot why I was there.
My favorite is I misplaced my phone the other day only to find it in the refrigerator 2 hours later.
At school it is worse: As a counselor I rely so heavily on my memory. I keep short hand notes with students but lately my cryptic language isn't enough. It is very frustrating to have a student in my office and get their story mixed up with another kids. It does nothing for the therapeutic relationship.

I miss you real brain- come back!

15 Weeks!!

Yeah for 15! All three Prathers made it safely into 15 weeks.
Couple of things:
1. I woke this morning and noticed the bump is not going away anymore. I feel like it "popped" out over night. This week I feel like the baby is trying to bust out. On this committee blog I read some of the ladies were calling it "round ligament pain".

2. Chris's whistling is making me nauseous. Ha! I think that the baby recognizes his whistling because every time Chris whistles when I'm laying down I feel a rolling feeling. Not kicking yet but hopefully soon!

3. I am craving oranges. I have eaten 2 a day since Thursday. I'm not sure how long this will last but right now United is doing a great job with their organic oranges and I want them. Also Saturday and Sunday I ate cheese enchiladas for dinner. I saw enchiladas on food network on Saturday morning and can't get them out of my mind.

In school news- very sad my Ipod was stolen. So for my Words with Friends players don't be mad if I don't play for a while. If I do play.... ask them who it is and to give me back my Ipod!!!
