The first time I saw a horned toad was with my Grandad Carter. It was behind his house close to the lake. He made me hold its little squished body while he went and got a cigar box. I remember him telling me they eat mosquitos and other annoying bugs so he liked having them around. We didn't keep it in box long because he said that horned lizard has business to attend to. I thought he might be late for a date or meeting as it ran back woods.
Ali and I run and bike in the morning. While at the park Ali almost ran over the horned toad with her bike and I side stepped the little guy thinking it was snake. I picked it up like my grandad showed me and the girls weren't scared.
Before we took it to the field behind the park I let the girls pet it and look at it. They begged to keep him but I knew he had business to attend to so we took him to the field and let him go. Ali told him to stay out of the street.
Sunday, May 3rd we had Nana's Social Distancing zoom birthday party and parade. Caroline designed the above background for our zoom party for her background.
It was a three car parade and we talked to nana and papaw on the porch.
Chris grilled burgers and we picked up cake to eat at home It was a really fun birthday party!
Our church had a social distance snow cone party. The children's minister had all the bible studies for the month of May ready and they had a snow cone truck were we stood way away from our friends. We get to go back to church in the building in 3 to 4 weeks and I can't wait!
