Crawling

That’s right Caroline is Crawling.  On Friday morning it was just her and her daddy hanging out and he witnessed her crawl to a ring she had thrown.  He thought he had imagined it  {Sleep deprivation makes you see things}  but then she did it again!  Nana & Papaw also witness her little trick.

They baited her with an Iphone and she crawled clear across the living room floor.  I had to bait her with a La Especial Burrito.  We cheered her on & then we realized we were in trouble.

Immediately when I put her down at home she crawled right over to the Christmas tree wanting to pull it on her head. Then when we turned her around she went right for the monitor plugged in.

First order of business: put those plastic safety protectors over the plugs,  wires are now off the floor & put a gate up around the Christmas tree. Pip beware Caroline is coming for you.

Happy Thanksgiving From the Prathers

On Thursday morning we were up early.  I guess Caroline did not want to miss the Macy’s day Parade.  We watched all the floats from Spiderman, to that weird turkey the moves his head and wings, to Papa Smurf & finally Santa. We played all morning and enjoyed the relaxing day.

Caroline holding her surprise from Nana & Papaw's adventures from Disneyland. They brought her a Minnie Mouse blanket, Chip and Dales crackers & Minnie Mouse stuff animals.  She loved beating the Minnie Mouse on the cracker box.  It seemed to be a really fun game.

Our little turkey enjoyed eating everything that Nana, Mimi & Papaw made for us.  Her favorite foods were the Beans and twice baked potato.

We have so much to be thankful this year.  We love our baby so much!!

Checked from Head to Toe

Our 9 month well check up was a success!
Caroline is weighing in at: 16.8 lb- 26%
 Her height: 27.8in - 49%!
She is still a lightweight but is doing everything she can to catch up.  She loved the paper on the exam table.  When the nurse put the stethoscope under Caroline's shirt She grabbed the nurse's wrist giving the appearance that she was checking her pulse.

Caroline didn't have to get any shots this time around but did not appreciate being put on her back and getting her stomach pushed on. Chris and I have to decide if want to give her the flu shot or not.  We aren't one of those people that don't believe in vaccinations but are just a little unsure about it. I tried reading a couple of articles on Pros and Cons of getting for babies and the "against" people sound crazy- "The government created to flu to get more money" crazy.

We need to decide pretty quick because for children under three it's a 2 part shot {one month apart} so it would need to be done before January.

Anyways notice from these pictures who is the more caring parent?
 Dad wins this round!

Proud Red Raider

I make it my mission to give Jacee as many nicknames as I can. Jacee Pacee, Pooh {her childhood hero}, Jack, Jay, Poodle, Jackie Doo, cha-cha,  Jack-a-doodle doo- Are just a few of my more recent accomplishment.  I’m hoping one sticks with Caroline and she names Jacee: Aunt Poodle.

So anyways Jacee Pacee is graduating from Texas Tech University on December 14th!!  My mom & dad now have 3 proud Red Raiders that have earned a degree from there.  When it’s all said and done Chris will have sat through 5 Texas Tech graduations: counting Stephanie’s in 2003 & Kelley’s in the next 2 years {lucky guy}.

I am very proud of Jacee. She has worked so hard to get to this point.  She will be great at whatever she does because of her love and commitment to people.  She will make her job her mission field & build relationships that edify the kingdom.  Way to go jac!  We love you very much!!

Two Teeth

I finally got a good picture of Caroline's two teeth. We are waiting on the appearance of her top teeth.  We have certainly experienced all the symptoms this week: drooling, low grade fever,  irritability  & one horrible incident where her daddy had to change pjs & sheets in the middle of the night. She seems to be back to normal but we still don't have anything to show for it.

Burrito for Lunch

When I got to school this morning I realized I couldn't find my burrito I packed for lunch.  I looked inside my bag, under the seat & the trunk just in case I had a wild moment and put it in there. All of a sudden it hit me.  I accidentally  packed my lunch in Caroline's bag.

I called her school & they confirmed I had packed peaches, squash and an Amy's organic bean burrito. I asked them to withhold the burrito for today. I'm sure Ms. Debbie thought I was crazy feeding an infant such a big portion of food.

This evening Caroline helped me cook dinner. I gave her an empty paper towel role & she had so much fun with it. Christmas is going to be a breeze if all she wants to play with is paper towel roles.

Dondi & Kyle

Dondi and Kyle are back in the States!  Caroline has only known Dondi from Skype so it was really neat for her to meet her face-to-face. Caroline officially accepted the flower girl position with the understanding she would be used to cute some pictures up.

"Why hello Dondi let me insert my hand in your mouth"

Jacee made Welcome home signs.  That Jacee is so thoughtful.  Jacee and I  accepted bridesmaids positions and are going with Dondi next Saturday to look at dresses. We both were very honored to be asked and don't this position of power lightly.
Caroline and Daddy playing "ride little pony"

Caroline has turned Lolly & Granddad's living room into a large play area.

Nutty Nine Month Old

A few things I want to remember:
She is still in size 3 diapers

My favorite little outfit for her is a size 6/9 months and no longer fits her as of last weekend.  She is mainly rockin 9m, 9 to 12 and some 12m.

We started feeding her small bits of real food.  She is a huge fan of cornbread & especially likes the kind from Cagles.  Juice gives her the shivers.  She likes water through the sippy cup & would prefer to do it herself.  We just started giving her food 3 meals a day.

She scoots backwards when she wants to go somewhere. She will also roll but she has this one crazy leg that keeps getting in the way for crawling. Also in the morning she has been sitting up waiting for me.  Daddy had to lower her bed because she starting to pull herself up.

Her sleep habits have changed a little.  She has been sleeping until 4:30 or 5 {formally 5:30 or 6} to eat a bottle.  Just recently she has been fussing when we put her down.  Even though she is tired she still thinks she wants to stay up and play. poor girl is afraid she is missing something.

She waves Hello and Bye, even if I just walk back in the room.  She welcomes me with a wave.  She just started doing this on a consistent basis.

She still likes to have a Dr. Brown's pacifier when we put her in her bed.  Most nights she will spit it out.  Very rarely does she wake up with it still plugged in.

Her least favorite part of the day {and frankly mine too}is putting her arms through sleeves.  She arches her back and screams like am throwing red ants into her armpit.  The only thing that helps is reciting Brown Bear, Brown Bear to her.

Her favorite toys right now are her jingly brush {pink brush with a bell in the bottom} her video baby monitor because she likes the light & her pacifier- she doesn't actually suck on it she uses it to bang on things.

"Look mom now you need to start proofing the house!"

9 Months Picture

Brooke took some AMAZING pictures.  She is so talented.
Here are just a few pictures of Caroline Grace's 9 month pictures.

Mid-Week Dallas Trip

Chris was asked to speak at a State Farm event on Wednesday.  It was a huge honor & Caroline and I were so proud of him.

While he worked- we played & got to see lots of our Dallas friends.
We got to Amy & Gian's house really late Monday night.  Caroline slept from Lubbock to Dallas so she was ready to party when we pulled up.  It took us a while to convince her to sleep.

Tuesday:  We dropped Chris off and went to play with Brooke & Madden.  Brooke took Caroline's 9 month pictures {they turned out great!} Tuesday night the we got to go to the Leidner's to eat Tortilla soup.  We hadn't seen their new house.  Caroline is doing this new fun thing where when someone holds her face to face she tries to put her hand in their mouth...nice.

Wednesday: Caroline & Sam played all morning.   Caroline was fascinated with Sam and watched his every move. They jumped on the bed.

They played on the floor

built legos and ate them

went on a walk

 & Learn to drive
I tried to get a picture with Amy, Caroline & Sam- it took a while
