Easter!

Saturday Caroline and I made our way to Lucas Higgins' house for an Easter egg hunt his mom put together. Lucas calls Caroline- baby Carolina He has a really fun backyard with a trampoline, large swing set, and even a small extreme coaster.  Caroline was very interested in the trampoline. We will defiantly go back to jump.
Sunday Morning Caroline woke up to a few surprises.  Nana & Papaw gave an Easter basket with a book, yogurt drops and Carebear toothbrushes {which were her favorite- She must get this from her cousin Lane who also loves toothbrushes}.

She got a few new Easter cards, so we put them up in the kitchens and Aunt Teddie and Uncle Luke sent her the cutest bathing suit.  She is offically ready for summer!

Mimi made her 2 new outfits and some bunny ears.  She also got her some bubbles which is why Caroline is hanging around the door.  She is hoping we can go outside and pop bubbles again.

We are ready for the early service.  If you know our family, "early service" is not a normal word we use very often but we made it out the door in time to drop Caroline off at the nursery and found a seat.

Caroline doesn't jump in her baby Einstein at home but in the nursery she loves it.

We saw her friend Harper today.  Cathryn, Joe and Harper were in our life-group until the summer when Joe got a job in San Angelo.  We were so happy to see them.

Harper gave Caroline a great big hug! She is so sweet.
 We had Easter lunch when we got home {Rosas burritos!}
and Caroline kept putting the Easter bucket Mimi gave her on her head. Then pulls it up and say "boo".  She also read "From Head to Toe" Aunt Jacee got her.

She really likes those bunny ears.
We are so thankful for our little bunny!

It Was a Good Friday Indeed

Caroline and I had the day off from school today so naturally she decided to wake up at 5:30am to play.  That girl doesn't like to waste time.  We played all morning and then ate lunch with daddy.

After lunch and a long nap we went to the Grand Opening of Nothing Bundt Cakes.  Aunt Kelley is working there.  When we got there she was helping a guy for KCBD {a local news guy}.  We bought a cake for our life group's Easter dinner. I think the gang will be impressed with the flavor Caroline and I picked out.
YUM! Chocolate-chocolate chip

Caroline helped daddy sell some life insurance today.  She was very convincing because I decided to increase my Universal life policy. "Mrs. Prather, sign right here."

Nana, Papaw & aunt Kelley came to play at the end of the day. Caroline showed off a little by taking a couple of steps. She knows when she has an audience.

Right before bath dad put on a concert.

It appears that Caroline is requesting a song & by the looks of things she got what she wanted.  Wrapped around her finger.....

Caroline's Teeth Saved Me Money

This week started with a warning...

There is SO much road construction around our house.  The city of Lubbock does not want me to get anywhere efficiently.  To go to Caroline's daycare I have to use 92nd street {a residential street with the speed limit of 30}. Last Monday I picked Caroline up from daycare and she was not happy.  Her front top left tooth was coming in and from the minute I put her in the car seat she screamed.
I was in a hurry to get that girl some pain meds so I was traveling a little faster to usual. Right in the middle of 92nd street was a motorcycle cop.  I did the whole "slam on my brakes maybe he didn't see that...."  but he did and he pulled me over.  Meanwhile Caroline is wailing in the back and is unconsolable.  As the cop approached my car he made a sympathetic face and I knew he could hear the screaming.  He asked all the questions, & I gave him my license and registration. We both had to practically scream at one another to hear.  When he was running my stuff he said, "You know I have 3 girls and teething is tough. I'm letting you off with a warning."

I was very thankful and drove away going 20 MPH.  {Chris would have NEVER let me live this down if I would have raised our insurance!}  So that's the tale of how Caroline's teething got me out of a ticket.

Side Note: Pip had to go to the doctor this week.  It's a long story involving a hot glue gun, cut whiskers, & throw up. She was not happy to be traveling to see Dr. Clark but was even more mad when they took her temperature.  I wasn't very sensitive by laughing out loud when Pip made a surprised face and let out a yelp.  I got a dirty look from the nurse holding Pip down.  Anyways she is fine now and forgave me for the whole ordeal when I bought her a bag of tuna treats.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday afternoon Caroline was invited to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  Not having much experience with hunting eggs, Chris and I were not sure how this was going to go.  Inge and Blake Kitchen have the greatest kid house on the block.  They hid over 150 eggs in the backyard. There were 3 older kids that they hid eggs up high and in objects.  They had to work hard for their eggs.

The 4 babies got to "hunt" eggs on the ground in plain site.  3 of the babies decided to fight over one side of the yard. Caroline made her way over to the other and CLEANED up.  At first she picked up eggs and wanted to play with them.  Then I put one in her basket she thought it was a fun game and started going after them.
After all the eggs were found (or that we could see) all the toddlers really wanted to play with the inflatable blue bunny chair.  After they each got a turn sitting in it, they tried to steal it from one another.

Jacob and Caroline taking turns- this is right before the claws came out.
Piper is trying to negotiate the big bunny away from Caroline.
Jacob was being sweet and sharing the plastic bunny. We had a really fun day with the neighbors!
Here is a close up picture of her cute Easter shirt. I got it at KK's Craft Mall in Lubbock.  They have the cutest little clothes for kids.

Daddy/Daughter Duo

Daddy has been playing his guitar for Caroline.  It started as a distraction so she wouldn't freak out when putting on her PJs.  Now he plays it for her when he gets home from work.  She LOVES it.
She likes to "help" strum.  Her favorite thing is to take the pick and put it to the strings. Then she gives it back to her dad, takes it back &  hands it to me.  Then repeats the process.

Mr. & Mrs. Kyle David

Dondi and Kyle's wedding was really fun.  We took pictures at 2:30.  Kyle & Dondi decided to wait for the wedding to see each other so we took pictures with the separate bridal parties and made sure they stayed clear of each other.

The wedding started at 4:00.  We tried to time it where Caroline would take her nap before the wedding. Chris has this magic touch with her and she fell right to sleep in the stroller.
Here is Dondi right before she was about to walk out!  She looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Caroline woke up right before we went out.  We gave her a quick snack and we were ready to go.

The music started and we were off. I had to carry Caroline down steps so I decided it was safest to wear flats.  Caroline did great on stage. As soon as my dad handed Dondi away he took Caroline to her daddy.  She was waving to everyone as she left the stage.  So cute!!

The ceremony was about 45 minutes long.  It was beautiful & Steve Brooks did a wonderful job officiating.

After the ceremony all the wedding guests walked over to the reception hall while the families took pictures.
When we got to the reception everyone had started to party. Chris got to bartend and I must say could do this on the side ! Nana and Papaw took Caroline home so she could sleep. I was so thankful for their help!!

Ryan (the best man) & I had to give toasts.   It's so weird I can talked to an assembly full of 600 kids but got crazy nervous talking to a room full of adults.  We did good & Dondi and Kyle had their first dance.  Dondi made this amazing slide show that played while they danced.

My parents danced to all the country songs.  That's kind of their thing.  Jacee danced to everything, This is the part she waited for all week! Aunt Kelley even got there and danced to a song or two. Dondi had a photo booth.
All my Aunts and Uncles crammed in the photo booth
Cousins

Nana sent me a picture of Caroline.  I know she had a great time with them!

I'm so happy for my sister and new brother-n-law.  Their wedding was really fun!!
