Weekend with Lolly and Grandad

Caroline and Ali got to spend the whole weekend with Lolly and Grandad.   Both kids had a blast!
Grandad got snuggles and won Ali over with reading Brown Bear 1,000 times.

Blowing kisses goodnight
Ali even got in on the action.  Ali slept in until 7:30am at Lolly's (this never happens at my house).
Playing play-doh before the day started.

My mom is in charge of national honor society at AHS. NHS students were getting service hours by picking up trash at the park.  Lolly had the girls help the big kids. Ali supervised from the stroller and ate cheerios.  Caroline asked if she could keep the "tweezers" when they got finished.

After cleaning the park they went swimming in the hot tub

Ali just got to splash on the edge.
They also played at the park. Caroline got a really great scratch on her knee and she was proud of it because it needed 2 band-aids. On Sunday morning Caroline sat through "Big" church while Ali went to the nursery.  Both kids were worn out when they got home on Sunday.
Chris and I enjoyed a kid-free weekend together. I love spending time with him! We went on a date Saturday, slept in, and watched Netflix. It was amazing!
We missed our babies though and are glad they are home!

At the Hop

We got invited to our first dress up birthday party. It was a 50's theme party. Mimi made Caroline's poodle skirt and sewed a little pink poodle on Ali's tutu. The party was at Holly Hop ice cream shop. It had a party room that Felicia rented out.  The party had 50 style music, hulu hoops, face painting, balloon animals, and ice cream a perfect 2 year old birthday party!

Caroline decorated a beautiful hair do with paw patrol stickers.

Zoe is one of Caroline's good friends from church. Her hair turned out good!

Poodle skirt and record cookies

Andrea really liked the taste of Butterfinger ice cream

Caroline picked a rainbow to have painted on her face

She was really proud of it and didn't want to take it off at bath time.

On Saturday night the girls wore their matching PJ's from Nana.

Mudroom Birthday Party

Caroline had her 4th birthday party at the Mudroom on Saturday. The party ran really smooth. We started right at 2:00 and finished by 3:00 (my kind of 4 year old party- short and sweet!).

As soon as the kids got there they started painting. There were a few options of pottery to pick from and the paint was already out on the table. Most of Caroline's friends from school came along with a few of our neighbors and people from church.

Most importantly her grandparents and Aunts were there to love on her!

Grandad commissioned her paint him a special coffee cup.  The tongue of concentration came out to help her paint a number "4"right in front.

Ali got lots of attention too!  Aunt Jacee even brought her a board book just for her.

Everyone singing Happy Birthday.  It was a group effort to blow those candles out.

It was a fun birthday party!

Caroline's Well Check

Caroline had her 4 year well check on Monday. She finally hit 30lbs and is in the 12% for weight.  She in 40in that is 34% for height.

They checked her vision and she is 20/20. She had to get 2 shots and took those like a champ! Chris held her hand and talked to her so she didn't see the needles.  She was pretty proud of the band-aides and wanted to know when those suckers were coming out.

Caroline is at such a fun age!
 Things I want to remember:
Size 4T both shirts and pants (with a belt)
Size 8 shoes
She picks out her clothes most mornings
Puts her shoes up when we get home

Her chores:
makes her bed in the morning
and put the silverware away from the dishwasher

Favorite Food:
She is what I would call a picky eater. She will eat most fruits, peanut butter or cheese on anything, grilled cheese , bean burritos, some fish and chicken.
Foods she will NOT eat:
Anything with tomatoes
(She won't eat spaghetti and pizza because of this)
Beef
She doesn't like weird textures
and any kind of sauce -ketchup, mustard, mayo
She has the best imagination and can be transformed into any character.
She wants to play chase 24/7.  I need Ali to start walking so she can tag in.
She wants to know how to spell words and is always asking "what does this say?" while pointing to words
She likes drawing and coloring/ painting & playing play-doh
She is very competitive which we use to our advantage.  Chris and I both say things like "race you to the bath tube!", or "who can put their shoes on first?".

The Hendricks family got her a "reading teepee" as she calls it for her birthday.
She likes books and movies about animals, princesses and super heroes
Her favorite shows right now:
Lion Guard
Super Why
Paw Patrol
Surprise Egg videos on the IPad
Favorite Movie:
Aladdin
Polar Express

She is smart, kind and silly & I'm so happy she is mine!
