Start of Spring

Spring has started!

We had our first Easter egg hunt of the year last week.  Our neighborhood put on an egg hunt. Ali cleaned up in her age division

Caroline was disappointed she didn't get as many eggs as Ali but she had a lot of fun with her friends at the park.

The girls are obsessed with this little ant hill.  We have checked on it every day for 2 weeks. Ali even brought them a cookie.    Dad decided we needed our own ant farm. I'm sure the neighbors love us feeding the ants at the park.

Cowgirl Day

Thursday was cowgirl day for kindergarten.   They had a real chuck wagon come and feed the kids chili and cornbread.  There were real miniature horses to pet and there was going to be cowgirl/boy games. Caroline LOVES dress-up days. She has really enjoyed themed reading- Caroline has been coming home so excited about cowboy/girl books this week.  I know it is so much work but the kindergarten teachers work hard to have really fun activities for their students.

Last night dad made Caroline and Ali a cowgirl tent to sleep in.  Caroline decided to wear her costume to bed- she even slept in her boots

Girl scouts- Tuesday the daisy made blankets for the animal shelter.

Caroline comes to my school in the afternoon.  She has really made herself at home yesterday.

During Spring Break last week the girls spent two nights with Lolly and Grandad and had a great time!

Here are a few pictures my mom sent me.

Spring Break

Spring Break has been so much fun around here!

Here is what we have been doing:

The girls asked if they could sleep on the air mattress in Caroline's floor.  They have been staying up a little later playing and have been sleeping in too.  This time change has worked to my advantage.

On Monday Caroline had to get silver crown put on.  Ali had to go to school for a few hours because I wasn't sure what to expect.  Caroline did great! Her dentist was so fast we were in and out in 20 minutes.

Caroline thought a smoothy would help her feel better. I also took her rollerskating for the first time.  She had so much fun!

I got some great videos of her skating and falling

She had the best time and has decided to save her money and get roller-skates

Tuesday Morning:

We did arts and crafts at the Buddy Holly Museum.  The girls made stain glass kites.

Ali mainly concentrated on cutting up tissue paper for the table to use.

In front of the museum

After the museum we went to the main library.  They have a huge kids section.  Both girls found books to read.  Ali "reads" really loud.  There wasn't a lot of people around otherwise they would have heard, " THEN THE MONKEY RAN STRAIGHT OVER TO THE BUS AND JUMPED ON TOP!"

Wednesday was another first:

I took the girls bowling.  The bowling ally had a special for 2 hours.  One of the workers put up the bumper and gave the kids one of the ball-roller helpers.

Caroline and Ali did a really great job adjusting it by themselves

Ali actually won the last game.  She was so proud of herself!

Trampoline park fun.

For lunch we went to a tea room and had grilled cheese, soup and a piece of dessert.  Caroline choose Apple pie and Ali choose Oreo cake.

The girls were invited to a swim party.

Jumping with her friends.  We have had a great time on our stay-cation.
