Skiing

We had a fast trip this weekend for Ali's very first ski trip.  Friday night we drove into Ruidoso.  We stayed in my dad's cousin's cabin. The girls woke to snow on the ground.  Ali and Caroline couldn't wait to get going.

It was really windy and cold.

I had Ali ski between my legs in the morning.  We skied down the bunny slope and went up the lift a few times until almost lunch.  She told me her favorite part was the trail mix snacks.  I didn't get a picture of her skiing.  Caroline immediately  jumped on her skis and Chris had to hurry up to chase after her.
She was ready!

We put Caroline in lessons in the morning.  She had a great instructor that really helped her turn and stop.  After lunch my mom and I took Caroline to the top and we skied all the way down a few times.

These are from a video I took. It was such a fun day!

On Sunday morning we got up and ate at The Log Cabin

Breakfast there is so good!

On the way home we stopped at the horse museum.

Well Check

Yesterday Caroline and Ali had their 7 year old and 4 year old well checks.  Ali unfortunately had to also get her immunization shots and a blood draw.  Chris and I have been talking to her about it, watching Daniel tiger gets a shot and practicing at home...... She was fine until it came time for the shot- It was rough and she fought us.

Then we had to go down stairs and get a blood draw.  Chris took Ali back and I stayed with Caroline.  We could see Ali crying through the glass and them holding her down.  Caroline started bawling and begged me to make them stop hurting her.  She kept saying "Can they have my blood?!?" At one point I had to hold Caroline because I thought she was going to run in there and rescue her.  It broke my heart!

After the Well Check order returned and we went to Chick Fila.  Ali had a light blue wrap around her elbow and the bend in her arm.  She was really proud of it and wouldn't let Chris or I take it off.  She kept calling it her cast.  Several people commented on it and she was glad to retell the story over and over again adding that she was really brave to have a hole in her arm.

From this week:

Caroline contracted the flu on Thursday.  She was fine for her valentine party but when Chris picked her up she was burning up so I took her to the clinic.  They asked if she had been around flu.... I'm pretty sure every kid in her class has had it.

Caroline didn't leave the house until school on Tuesday morning and was feeling so much better.  She had the Flu shot back in October. The doctor said she would get over it faster but it still took her a full 5 days to feel better.

Chris and I did our best to keep Ali away:  She went to a friend's birthday party and I took her to sell Caroline's girls scout cookies at a booth in front of Home Depot. She helped me clean but mostly had to stay in the basement.  She really wanted to sleep with Caroline.

Caroline entertained herself with a lot of movies and she took pictures of random things.  I have about 30 pictures of Pip looking annoyed.  We also finished a 150 piece puzzle.

Caroline was feeling better Monday night and I know both girls were ready to have their buddy back!

Chris ordered HAPPY BIRTHDAY donuts for Caroline's class.  Chris said she felt like a celebrity.  Her sweet teacher Ms. Flores sent me these pictures

Getting her donuts this morning

Right now she is involved in church, piano, basketball and Girl Scouts
Pictures from her very first basketball game:

She set the most amazing screen I have ever seen.  Her and the girl she screened went flying but she had her feet set and took it like a champ- her dad was pumped!! Her feet never stopped moving.  She made the stands laugh when the girl she was guarding was in-bounding the ball.  Caroline did jumping jacks to prevent her from throwing it in.

Her cheering section!  Go Caroline!!!

She took it upon herself to start throwing in the ball.

Happy Birthday Sweet Caroline! Mom and Dad Love you so much!!

Caroline's Birthday Party

Caroline celebrated her birthday at Main Event.  She had her first sleep over with her sweet friends.  They had so much fun at Main Event. They bowled, ate pizza and french fries and played unlimited games for 30 minutes.

They were such great cheerleaders!

Caroline wanted to give her friends cat ears for party favors.

Unlimited games for 30 minutes was awesome!

What a fun group.  They were really sweet and had a great time playing together.

Saturday:  Caroline and Ali were invited to a skate party

It took Caroline about 5 minutes holding dad's hands to pick skating up and then she was off.

Ali did great too.  Both girls were exhausted! It was so fun.
