A Week in IPhone Photos

Monday: We went for a run around the neighborhood. When we got home, Pip was there to play.  We are working on the word "gentle".  Pip is surprising ok with having her tail pulled.

Tuesday: Our girl enjoyed feeding herself.  She doesn't have the skills to pick up little cheerioes or puffs but if you put it in her hand she gladly shoves it in her month.
Caroline is hanging onto her jungle gym.  She will stand for only a few second without trying to take a nose drive into the carpet.

Wednesday:  There was a down pour of rain in the afternoon/evening it brought hurricane winds to Lubbock.  When I walked inside Caroline's daycare to get her it was lightly sprinkling. When I walked out it was lightning and hailing... Oh West Texas weather.... If you don't like it wait 20 minutes and it will change.

Thursday: Caroline got to stay up late!  We went to the LISD counselor's family picnic & didn't get home till 7:00.  After oatmeal, bath & a bottle she was still in play mode.  Daddy let her stay up & party for while.

Friday: On Fridays during the fall they have college day at her school. They encourage all the kids to wear college shirts and colors.  They start planting the seed of college early. When we got home we had an invitation waiting for us for Lane's first birthday. Lane will be One in the middle of October.  I can't how big he is getting!

Making a Mess

Daddy started to feed Caroline. He put the bowl and spoon in front of her. He got a big blob of oatmeal on the spoon when all of a sudden she grabbed it out of his hand and proceeded to feed herself. Plop! right in the nose.  She was very proud of herself.  I'm just glad he got a picture.

This was taken after tonights feeding. The highchair matched the bib.  She is a good eater- just a little wild. She loves to eat Mum Mums. She gets really excited to when we present her with one. Some how  it always get in her hair.

Below is the craft she made at church.  I wish they would have kept the first copy. They said she loved playing in the blue paint and got it all over the first paper.  Caroline smeared it from top to bottom and then wanted to eat it.
I'm trying to find a creative way to display her pictures and art projects.  I found some cute an ideas on Pinterest it is just choosing one and going with it.

Anyways she is likes making a mess but as long as she learns to clean her mess up it is fine with me.

The Adult Form of Jacee

My little sister Jacee Turned 22 yesterday.  While 22 isn't usually an exciting birthday, I love to celebrate Jacee's. It's been 11 years since her accident. She has transformed from a sweet kid to beautiful, competent adult. She is graduating from Tech in December & has applied for a grown up job here in Lubbock and in San Antoino. I'm so proud of her.

Happy Birthday Jac! I'm praying year 22 is the best yet!!
Eric & Jordan joined in on the festivities last night. We ate Papa Johns pizza (classy) and a cookie cake from the mall.  Beverly always gets these for everyones birthday.  They are so good.

Dondi David

Today I got call at school from a really weird number.  I knew it was Dondi because when she calls it says: Palmdale Area.  I was talking to a student so I couldn't answer right away. When I finally got a hold of her & her first words were "So Caroline is getting a new uncle!" Dondi & Kyle are getting married!!!

She told me the beautiful story of their engagement.  He did good.  We are really excited he is joining our family. Jacee & I have already started planning her girls weekend.  Skiing, murder mystery, camping, Dallas were just some of this destinations we talked about.

In Caroline news: She is getting more teeth.  She had a really tough day at daycare.  I even got a call this morning from Learning Tree asking when the last time she had Tylenol. She didn't sleep or eat very well today. This teething business is for the birds. We only have 19 more times we have to do this....

Caroline is getting stronger and is grabbing everything in her site. In fact she picked her cousin Lane's birthday present at Cardinals because she grabbed it off the shelf.  She picked up her laundry basket tonight.

She grabbed the Ipad & we snapped this picture.

These pictures were from 5:30am this morning.  She loves her mornings.

Peek-A-Boo Tooth

Poor Caroline, today was the day that her lower right tooth popped out. It was rough afternoon for sure. She was fussy & didn't want to eat.  Kristen Lewis gave me good advise about freezing a washrag and letting her suck on it. Caroline chewed on he washrag and it seemed to help. We also gave her Tylenol, orajel & lots of love.

Jacee watched her this evening when Chris and I went to life group and she cried most of the time.  I felt so bad for both of them.  Jacee took her outside where she calmed down. She just wanted to snuggle all day.

I couldn't get a good picture because her tongue kept getting in the way.  I did get some pictures of the outfit Mimi made her.  I love her name on the back.  Now that her favorite form of transportation is rolling we got to see her back side a lot today.

Brrrr It's Cold Outside!

The last couple of days it has been cold and rainy.  We broke out our long sleeve onesies and ski hats to keep her head warm. The Prather household likes the fall.  Stew, fire in the fireplace, college football are just a few of our favorite things this time of year.

Caroline LOVES to be outside.  At daycare they get to go on walks once a day in a fire truck stroller that holds 4 babies.  Thursday and Friday was the first time since she started going that they couldn't go outside because of the non-stop rain.  She was not happy about this decision.

This was an outfit lolly gave her.  She was nice and warm in her new dress and tights. It also happen to be Monterey's homecoming.  Their colors are light blue and red so she supported them on Friday.  We didn't go to the game because of the rain but we cheered them to a victory while listening to them on LISD TV.

This morning we went running around noon but it was still 60 outside so we broke out her cold weather hat.  Her ears were nice & toasty as she was being toted around.

It's suppose to warm up to 90 this week but we are excited that fall is in the air!

Silly 7 Month Old

7 months old today!
A couple of things I want to remember:
Caroline is now in size 3 pamper diapers.  These diapers don't have the wet indicator like the ones before but it is not hard to tell what is going down there anymore.
For clothes she is in 6M, 6-9M, and 9M {and one zebra shirt that is a 12 month, we think it is miss sized}
She is finally sleeping through the night.  There has been a couple of nights here and there were she would go from 8:00 pm- 6:00am.  Now for the past 2 weeks she has done it every night!

She loves Vegetables & Oatmeal and tolerates fruits. Recently she has been eating Mum mums and cheerios all by herself.  She just gums them until it dissolves. She is holding her own sippy cup and can hold her bottle.  Such a big girl.

Her nursery school says she is teething {hence the drool on her chin}. For awhile she was needing teething gel and Tylenol everyday but it seems to have let up and only comes in spurts.
She is rolling around like crazy and is sitting up on her own.  We put a boppy behind her because she is still wobbly.

She is defiantly a talker. She is very noisy in the car and on our runs. She says "Ma ma ma ma" when she is in distress- hungry, or sleepy mostly.
She thinks her daddy is hilarious. The way he dances, sings & makes faces makes her giggle and laugh.
She is funny to watch play.  We put her in the baby Einstein and put toys around her.  Once she knocks all the toys off she is done playing.

Slumber Party

On Friday night Caroline & I spent the night at Lolly & Granddad's in Andrews. Chris had to work early Saturday morning so he didn't get to make this trip. My dad was watering the yard when we pulled up. Blackie & Nike greeted Caroline with licks to her feet.

Staring contest.....go!

Getting burped before bed. She got to stay up till 9:00 PM & slept all night in her mickey mouse pack-n-play. On Saturday morning we were up early ready to play. My mom had to wok the Andrew's cross country meet so Caroline and I tagged along for a little bit.

We left the meet and came home. Nana & Papaw brought us breakfast burritos and hung out for little while.

Caroline with her Cher wig on.  It's actually a black tutu from her great aunt Sharon that is to big for her right now.

A special treat for this weekend is Caroline got to try Mum Mums.  Stephanie recommended them because they are Lane's favorite.  She LOVED it.  I only gave her one but she really enjoyed feeding herself.

My family watching the Tech game on ESPN III.

Sickness has Struck

Labor day weekend was great until 5:00pm on Monday night. We were getting ready for Sara's birthday dinner when all of a sudden I didn't feel good. It hit hard and fast. I was sick from 5:00pm to 4:00am straight.  Chris was in charge & took very good care of his two girls.
Around 6:00am after Caroline's night feeding it hit Chris.  He got really sick & went straight to bed.  I was weak, dehydrated & couldn't carry around my 16 lb baby.  When she woke up I had to put her in her walker and push her around the house. It felt good to stay stooped over. She really wanted to snuggle and be held but I restrained myself.  I took her to daycare in her PJ's. & went to work for a little while.
After I squared everything away I took 1/2 a day and came home to Chris.  We both slept till 5:00 pm.  I picked up the baby & Chicken Noodle soup from Chick-fi-la & came home.  Caroline had to hang out in the baby Einstein and her walker because I was still having trouble with my strength. After eating and sleeping I feel so much better
Chris was finally feeling better today. He requested wings for dinner.  I think he was so hungry he would have eaten tuna.

Thankfully Caroline didn't get sick.  I have bleached all her toys & disinfected the house. We are glad we made it out alive.

I meant to post this pic last week when Nana, Mimi, Papaw & Kelley came to see us.  Nana fed Caroline dinner while Mimi and Pip supervised.
