Ali is 7 Months Old

Ali is 7 months old today.  She is such a sweet baby! I had a VERY difficult time trying to get her 7 month picture.  This spunky little girl is always on the go.

What I want to remember about Ali's 7th month:

  • She army crawls everywhere.  I have seen her actually human crawl a couple of times but she prefers to move around like a baby seal. She is FAST!
  • She sleeps from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am-  lately she is requesting one night feeding around 3:30 am but goes right back to sleep.  She takes a morning and afternoon nap.
  • She is eating baby food and seems to like the vegetables over the fruits.  The avocado made her gag which made Caroline laugh hard-  this made Ali giggle uncontrollably.   Those two have a funny relationship.
  • She started drinking from a cup with some success.
  • She wants to play and do what her big sister is doing.
  • She loves to go on wagon rides and being outside.
  • She is wearing 6 month clothes and size 3 diapers
  • She is not a fan of being buckled into her car seat or being dropped off at daycare.
  • She smiles with her whole face and LOVES to be talked to and held close.
  • Her favorite sound to make is "Mamamamama" and blow rasberries.
  • Her school teacher says she likes to play with other babies.
  • Chris's nickname for her is Ali Bell
Here are a few attempts at getting a 7 month picture.

Learning to Make Dog Mush

Tonight Mimi showed Caroline and I how to make Sausage Swirls AKA Dog Mush. {Mimi named it a long time ago, Caroline thinks it is hilarious} I tried earlier in the week to make it and it turned into a big mess. Mimi agreed to help me out & she gave me a few tricks.

Caroline concentrated hard stirring the dough.  The trick Mimi said was to not stir it too much.  It was perfect for a three year old because the mixture was thick. We had to put the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes (another trick I didn't know)

When the dough was ready Mimi showed us how to smooth it out and roll the sausage mixture.

We made 3 loaves to put in the freezer.  This was the biggest mistake I made was not letting it get hard enough in the freezer. Tomorrow I will be able to slice thin pieces and cook them.  These are one of Chris's favorite breakfast item so it feels important to learn to make them right.

Also this evening we went to the park

Ali thought it was hilarious to run into daddy

Racing down the slide!

Boys Trip

Gian and Chris had a great weekend in CO.  Amy and I are already planning our weekend girls trip.  Our trip will consist of nothing but sleeping in and eating without crying babies. The boys rode a razors 2 days and did some fly fishing.

I loved hearing about all the fun they had!

A Week In Pictures

I'm still working like crazy on work related stuff at night but here are a few things going on in the Prather world:
Ali is sitting up be herself now.  She is also scooting across the floor.  Her new favorite sound to make is "Ma Ma Ma Ma." It happened all at once.

Last Thursday was the last splash day at her school.  I went to go get her and she had her glasses hanging from her shirt. She said "Look mom, I'm Papaw" Papaw always wears his glasses right there.

Tickle Tickle!

Daddy went on a boys trip with Gian for the weekend.  So mom pulled out all the stops for a fun weekend at home.

Also this week on one of our walks we found a caterpillar so Caroline has been really interested in the butterfly lifecycle.  We have been reading Very Hungry Caterpillar every night.

Back to Work

After having 6 weeks off Monday was my first day back to work. It was very hard to leave my babies. Top picture is Ali's first day of school. Caroline dropped off like a champ. She gave me a hug and a "bye mom, I love you."  She made fast friends with a new little girl in her class. Ali however screamed like I was abandoning her and had a horrible day. When I picked them up Caroline excitedly took me all the fun things she did that day.  Ali grabbed onto me and I wasn't able to put her down until her bath.

Day 2- Was still tough- Ali cried at drop off & Caroline decided she wanted to bring a stuff animal for nap. She also cried when I dropped her off but when I called later she was playing with all her friends. Ali had another bad day- UGH!

All week long I scheduled students from Caroline's bedtime to about midnight.  It's really hard to work at work so I have to  do most schedule fixes at home.  I keep reminding myself that this is a season.....

I was so glad when Friday afternoon hit:

Chris taking Caroline around the block in her truck

Ali drinking from a cup for the first time.

Caroline "reading" to Ali

We bought Candy Land - Chris and I both played many games this weekend.

Saturday night We ate at Cagles with the Koubas

Caroline is such a little daredevil.

Ali just relaxing! I enjoyed this weekend.
