Adventures with the Hendricks

Today is my official last day of summer.  Tomorrow I start back to Monterey. Although I love my job- I work with some incredible people and I feel like I make a difference blah, blah, blah- I am really going to miss my baby! Caroline and I have had an amazing summer. We have laughed, played, cooked, traveled, potty trained, painted, crafted, read and just enjoyed each other. This week as a final treat the Hendricks came to Texas!
Caroline loves her cousins and has enjoyed having them here.  We have played all week! Here are some of the adventures we have gone on.

Science Spectrum: Leah was convinced she was on the news and was disappointed we missed it that night.
Eating Ice cream at Holly Hops with Aunt Kelley and Teddie

Part of Leah's birthday present is painting her present at the Mudroom.  Caroline has been wanting to paint this little owl.  They were out so Leah and Caroline settle on little pumpkins. Caroline wanted to use all the same colors that Leah did. The little pumpkin will ready on Saturday just in time for Leah's Tea birthday party.

Riding a bull in the basement.  This was Chris's bull when he was a kid and Nana & Papaw brought it to Lubbock for another generation to enjoy. Caroline Loved it!

Papaw with his babies.  Caroline is watching Aunt Teddie do "Happy and You Know It!" and Lane is clapping along.

Caroline and Lane went to the Little Gym together.  Lane has incredible balance and tried flips, and monkey jumps with Caroline.

a little chick-a-lay (what Caroline calls it) for lunch

More Science spectrum because it rained all Tuesday.

Dr. Caroline and Dr. Lane saving lots of patients.

Leah was on the NEWS and gave her mom a Shout out.  It was adorable.

Park time with the cousins

Love these crazy kids!

Wrestle Mania

When Chris was little he loved wrestling on TV.  He used to have a Hulk Hogan wrestling buddy that got beat up all the time.  Then he would claim his wrestling title belt! He watched it on TV with his best friend {who was also named Chris!} His dad tells this hilarious stories: One time Ricky and Chris were wrestling on the floor and Ricky beat him fair and square. Ricky was asleep and Chris woke him up and gave his Wrestling title belt. SO CUTE!

Fast Forward 24 years we threw Chris a surprise Wrestling 30th birthday party! Chris had no idea! Stephanie was the best- On Friday she acted like she didn't even remember it was his birthday and everyone played it way down.

Here are the cast and characters for the WWE surprise party:

I was suppose to get Chris to Nana and Papaw's house at 5:00.  Around 4:50 I told Chris we needed to head over but he was not interested and even said we can be a little late.... I was really difficult to convince to go!
{the original plan was to head over there- Stephanie would come out and ask Chris to go to Starbucks - Caroline and I would go inside- giving us 10 minutes to get ready while he went to and came back}

What really happened is I told him we would meet him at Nana and Papaw's house because I was hungry.  This actually worked out better so Caroline and I could go get dressed easier.

Chris showed up and we all yelled "surprise!!" and sang Happy Birthday.  He had no idea!
Chris went around and guessed who everyone was! He still remembered all the wrestlers and got most them right!

Silly girl

Papaw grilled out.  We ate cake and opened presents.  We laughed as Chris was telling hilarious stories about his childhood.

Nachooooooooooo! the only wrestler Jacee knew Hahahaha she was "best dressed"

It was such a fun party.  Happy Birthday Chris! We love you so much!!

Prather Party of 4

Coming February 5th, 2015

The Prather's are having a baby ETA is February 5th {the baby would share a birthday with my granddad Carter}.  Baby P was measuring right on target and was "very active"-words of the US tech on the ultra sound screen. This picture makes me laugh because there is a random foot and hand floating around. They were able to measure everything and the baby looks great!

The first 12 weeks were not kind on me. I was either nauseous or getting sick and had to be prescribed medicine before the Colorado trip.  Not sure why I waited so long- the medicine worked perfectly! The good news is I have an active toddler that kept me go, go, going all summer long and I rarely had time to think about how I was feeling.

Predictions:
Caroline keeps telling me it is a boy and she will say "baby brother" when she prays for the baby. She also says "share with baby brother." Not sure where she picked that up but I'm not going to correct her.

Chris thinks we are having another girl- He says he is destined to be a "girl dad"- He is really good at it and can have a tea party like a champ.

I really don't have a feeling either way: If it's a girl- Awesome! I have the best relationship with my sisters and they are my best friends. Also we would literally have to buy diapers and an extra monitor screen because we have everything else.
If it's a boy- Awesome! Caroline and baby could still be great friends. We would have one of each and we would only have to save for one wedding....

How we told Chris's side: We served this cake to all of Chris's family {minus Luke} on Friday night.
They were surprised! Yay for more cousins to add to the mix.

Little side note: We were ordering the cookie cake {see above} & while we were waiting in line I saw Caroline staring at the little marry-go-round in front of the store. She started laughing as kids were playing on it.  When were done I surprised her with a ride.  She took the ride pretty serious by turning the little wheel and honking the horn but still laughed and had a great time.
To be 2 and the whole world is your playground. Friday morning I told her we were going to get the cake for baby and she got really excited! It looks like if you take this girl to buy a cookie cake you better just bring a quarter.
