We hit the road Friday morning to come home. Chris enjoys national parks and monuments so we made a detour to Mesa Verde. There are over 600 cliff dwellings in the park but there are only a few that the general public gets to see.

One of the more famous ones is called Spruce tree. Amy and I took the kids there while Chris and Gian went to see balcony house. You can only get to balcony house on ladders and a tour neither kid was ready for it.
The kids still found lots to do at spruce tree. It was more hands on and the kids did not mind getting their hands dirty. It was cooler back in the caves and amazing how persevered it was from the elements.

We had a little time before the dads were done so the kids got to play in the dirt. Luckily Amy is super mom and brought lots of cars that provided endless fun. They both were sad we had to go.
After we left Caroline and I immediately took a very long nap and we we woke up we were in New Mexico in time for dinner. Chris found a restaurant on YELP that had 135 reviews at 4.5 rating and it seemed promising but then we drove by it wasn't we thought so we went with the sure thing - Cracker Barrel.
We spent the night in ABQ, and drove back home Saturday morning. It was such a fun trip with lots of memories and inside jokes. The kids played good together. From the moment they saw each other it's like they had never been apart. We love the Falcos and can't wait for our next adventure.

I wish we had taken a picture of El Metate, the restaurant (possible drug den) sandwiched between houses, bars on the windows, and a closed sign on a Friday evening. Highly suspicious.
ReplyDeleteWe loved every minute of the trip with y'all, next year will be a whole new adventure!!
