Caroline's Birthday Party

For Christmas the Falco family gave Caroline a pair of Minnie Mouse -This became the inspiration for her birthday party theme this year.  Chris had the idea to do the party at Jump n Jungle.  I'm glad he did because I didn't have to clean my house! We invited a few friends from school and church. I was a little worried there might not be anyone show up because the roads where iced over but it seemed that everyone wanted to get out of the house just as bad as we did! We had a little cabin fever from being stuck inside.

Ms. Kristen put Ali to sleep and held her for most of the party.

That would be Caroline going head first down the slide

Lolly's here!

For party favors Caroline gave out Mickey ears

Blowing out her candles. She is wearing rain boots- they are her favorite shoes right now.

The frosting is her favorite part. Caroline and Evyn licking the frosting off.

Granddad, Caroline and Daddy

Little Minnie Mouse ready to go home and eat dinner. Caroline wore herself out. She will be talking about this birthday for a long time.  We put her to bed tonight and didn't hear a sound out of her.  Maybe this means she will sleep in....

Ali is One Month Old

Ali is one month old today!    She got to celebrate with her daddy as I had to go to work for the day. I'm not officially back until after spring break but I have 3 days of scheduling high school students for the 2015-16 school year.  I missed my buddy today.

Aunt Kelley did Ali's pictures on Tuesday morning. They turned out amazing! The reason her mouth is slightly open in most of the pictures is because we had to use the pacifier to calm her down, pull it out, and take a picture before she started to fuss.

Here is one of my favorite pictures.  This chair was my great grandmother's.

Little feet

No pacifier.

Some things I want to remember about Ali's first month.
She just finished her last newborn diapers and is now in 1's
She is wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes because she is too "tall" for newborn clothes.
She eats every 3 to 4 hours.
When we rock her to sleep she likes to be sung to.  Last night at 4am the only song I could think of was the Doc McStuffin theme song (a Disney channel show Caroline loves) so I sang that to her and she seemed to like it.
She likes baths, the carseat and her sister
I had to stop eating gluten, spicy foods and caffeine because it seems to bother her.

Here is a book Aunt Dondi sent to Caroline for her birthday.  We had a ton of Mercer Mayer books growing up so I'm glad to continue the traditions.
Snow day on Monday.

Caroline helping me with scheduling: notice that some of the grade labels have a orange colored pencil marks.

Caroline reading to Ali tonight.  She likes to rub her head.

3 Year Well Check

Caroline had her 3 year well check on Tuesday. We made it a family affair. The doctor wanted to see Ali for her acid reflux.  Chris and I have been talking to Caroline about what to expect at her well check.  There were no shots but she still needed to be prepped.

Getting her blood pressure taken

Caroline's stats:
Weight- 26.2 lbs -7%
Height: 36.75 in- 32%

The doctor said she sounded great and is very healthy!

Ali wore this outfit from her cousin Jaden. The doctor  checked her tummy. She is still gaining weight so we don't have to put her on medication. Poor girl just seems miserable after she eats. After I changed up what I was eating it seems to have helped. The doctor said she should grow out of this just in time for teething to start.

We also took care of Caroline's out of control bangs by finally getting her hair cut on Tuesday. Ms. Sarah goes to our church and always does a great job. This is the face Caroline wore the whole time- She looked concerned like it might hurt.

Some other pictures from the week:

Little Gym fun with Aunt Dacee

Watching her sister very closely

Caroline and I went to to the 63rd annual Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast while Ali and daddy hung out at the house Even though we went first thing this morning There were a ton of people there. The Monterey student counsel was there volunteering and a couple of my student's hooked Caroline up with a ballon and an extra pancake. We had a great time!

2 Week Check Up

Ali had her 2 week check up last week weighing in at 7lb 2 oz.  She is almost up a pound since her birth-day. Her length is now almost 21in.  I knew she had a little growth spurt- her newborn little pjs are getting snug.

Poor girl has been spitting up more then normal and seems uncomfortable after feedings.  I was put on a strict diet and the doctor gave us tips to help her. She is very healthy!

Valentine's Week

Caroline had her Valentine's party this week.  We had to bring a shoebox, stickers, a treat {caroline signed up for cookies} and 18 valentine's to share with the class. Lucky for us Aunt Jacee gave me a pair of Toms shoes recently so I had the perfect box to send.

Tuesday night we baked Strawberry chocolate chip cookies.  We might have sampled the batter.

Caroline ate her weight in strawberries and orange slices at the party. Our strawberry cookies were a huge success at least among the 3 year olds.  There wasn't any leftover.  It is neat to watch her interact with her friends. We openedher valentine's and thanked all her friends. It was a fun.

Ali slept the whole party

On Wednesday Chris had a meeting so he enlisted the help of Ricky and Beverly.  Caroline was so excited to have them here!  They cooked and let me sleep.  It was wonderful having them here.

Caroline got invited to a Val-Pal gymnastics day at TEGA gymnastics with one of her friends from school.  This place was amazing!  There was only 4 kids with one instructor so they got one on one to show them skills.  They were able to jump on the trampoline, play in the ball pit, walk on the balance beam and do floor work.

On Friday we let Caroline pick any restaurant for her birthday and wouldn't you know she picked Chick Fila. We brought our own cupcake and sang Happy Birthday before letting her play on the play ground.

For her birthday this year Chris and I got her a balance bike. Our neighbors have them so she got really excited knowing she can now ride with the big kids. Ali got Caroline a princess book. She was very sweet and gave Ali a kiss on the head to tell her thank you.

On Saturday she took her bike out for a spin. We are hoping to go from balance bike to regular bike and skip the training wheels.

Happy Birthday to my mom today!
