South Plains Fair

We went to the South Plains fair this morning.  It was cool and not crowed in the morning. Ali had a great time in the petting zoo.

Caroline ran from the goats and started to gag when one pooped so she stood by the gate.

Riding a few rides

Love this expression

More Saturday fun:

Caroline, Ali and I made bouncy balls so we tried them out at the park

Ali invented a new domino game called "timber"

Caroline and Ali put the Jenga pieces up, then they would shout "TIMBER" and throw their new bouncy balls from different sides whichever ball knocked the most Jenga pieces down would win!

They played this game for an hour!

Ali helping with pancakes.

Las Vegas

Chris had his State Farm convention in Las Vegas. This year they brought in Kelly Clarkson for the big show on the last night.  She was AMAZING.

The first band was STYX.  I made the mistake of calling them "the STICKS" and my brother in law rightly made fun of me.  They put on a great show.

Kelly Clarkson was AMAZING! She seems so genuine and fun.

Doing our best Laura Carter smile.  I lost my voice helping Kelly sing.

The end firework show was amazing! We had a great time.

During our time in Vegas:
Chris took me to Mystere and several really great restaurants.

Recommendation from Dondi- the milk shake at Holsteins.
Delicious

Zion National Park

Zion National Park is an amazing place. Chris and I trying to see all of the United States national parks.   It is beautiful. We had a good guide on the shuttle in the canyon.
We hiked up the West Rim trail, and did the riverside trail.  I really wanted to do the Emerald pool trail but it was closed due to flooding from July.

There were tons of wildlife.  One squirrel got pretty aggressive with little boy trying to eat his cookies.

Deer everywhere

Big horned sheep- The guide from the shuttle said they were hard to see so we were pumped when we saw a male and female walking around close to road on our drive.  The guide also said he saw a huge rattle snake a few weeks ago.  I'm glad he told us this after we were done hiking.

From the Car: There was a 15 mile loop in the park that was just breathe taking.

The tunnel was one mile long it was very narrow but a cool experience.
I highly recommend Zion National park!

Homecoming

Chris and I took the girls to their first Pirate football game.  As we were walking up to the stadium Ali started to worry she was going to run into the Pirate Mascot character.  Earlier that day the huge pirate Mascot  came to visit her class at lunch and it RUINED her day.  She screamed and hid behind the teacher. The teacher said she cried for almost an hour before she finally took a nap. Ms Llanas said she kept saying' "I don't appreciate him being here!" She said she sounded very proper.

At the high school this year no one tried out to be mascot so I knew we would be safe.  The Mascot at Caroline and Ali's school was a parent dressed up.

Once we settled in (and Ali saw that no mascot was there to hurt her) we had a great time.  Dad went and got popcorn which lasted until the band played.  The girls had a great time!

More from this week:
At Wednesday night kid's church Ali does not want to go in the nursery so Ms. Joy has been letting her come into the big kids worship. She follows along with the lesson and is so polite and sweet.  She must be worried she will get kicked out if she is too crazy.

playing soccer at the park

At girl scouts Caroline made Flower Fairies- hers turned out so cute

I came into my office and didn't immediately see Caroline. Then I heard something coming from the cabinet and opened up to find her cozily watching her My Little Pony movie.

Ali favorite thing at the park is to do cartwheels and handstands here is one picture of Caroline "helping" her.  They were laughing so hard they were falling down.
