Halloween

The Prathers had a really fun Halloween week.

Pumpkin Carving:

Caroline did not want to touch the guts of of the pumpkin but she did want to peak inside. She pulled the lid off and said "wow!" then did it again and again.  We used a blue glow sticks to make it light up. I also roast the pumpkin seeds and took them to work. I used a packet of Hot Serendipity sauce from Chicken Express that made them extra spicy!

At the Little Gym this week they were festive and let the kids dress up.  Caroline wore her pumpkin shirt from Nana & Papaw and got a lot of compliments.

On Halloween day Caroline and I rushed home from school to jump into costume.  As soon as I put her blue dress on she kept saying "Mimi, Mimi" and pointing to her dress.  We told her once that Mimi made her the dress so every time she see it she says that. First we went to see Aunt Jacee, then we went to Aunt Kelley's.  Caroline was so excited when Kelley shared her favorite cookies with her.  She kept saying "yum!" and taking a bite.

After tricker treating we went to our church's fall festival.  Chris and I were in charge of the the football throw from 6:30- 7:00.  Caroline helped me hand out the candy.  Every time a kid would pick a piece of candy out she would say "thank you".  Her favorite booth was the popcorn booth.
After the fall festival we came home and went to a couple of neighbor's houses to show off Dorothy. We live in a really fun neighborhood with lots of kids Caroline's age.  There was some really creative costumes that came to our front door.

Happy Halloween from the Prathers!!

Dorothy

Here are a few pictures from this weekend:
Happy Halloween from Dorothy!
I asked Caroline to stand in front of the pumpkin so I could take her picture before the fall festive.  She tried to cover it up. Silly girl....

Having a moment with the pumpkin.

Stolen Chicken

Caroline does this really funny thing.  When I pick her up from daycare she always screams "momma!" and grabs the closest toy to her.  On Friday she grabbed a chicken puppet to bring it to me. In all the shuffle of getting her, her mat and lunch bag the puppet got suck in her jacket.

I didn't even realized it was with us until we driving along and hear "bock bock bock" coming from Caroline in the back seat. She had retrieved the puppet from her coat and was playing with it! I was mortified!

I called the daycare to let them know.  I could tell they were not worried about the missing chicken. Caroline has been playing with it all weekend.  Crazy girl!

Caroline Lately

I don't know why but when I was uploading these pictures I realized how big Caroline is getting:
Here are a few new tricks she can do:
  • Eats breakfast all by herself: cereal & oatmeal with a spoon
  • Picks her toys up every night before bed
  • Chooses what shoes she wants to wear
  • Opens doors in our house on her own
  • Talks up a storm and learns new words everyday -{ reasons we watch what you say around her}

Saturday

Saturday morning Caroline and I went to see aunt Dacee.   She was in the middle of a Pinterest project and making Christmas presents.

Caroline loves Chelsea's dog Burkly so we played outside for a little while.

Caroline took part in her own art project.  Thanks Jacee for the Chocolate milk and letting us watch the first half the Tech game.

As soon as we got home we had this in the mail:

Aunt Teddie, Uncle Luke, Leah & Lane sent a Halloween surprise. Caroline read her new Mickey Halloween book in her turtle tent.  This is her new favorite hang out these days.  She has her zebra Mimi mat propped on one side and the other side holds all her toys and colors.  {by toys - I mean random Tupperware, spoons, & books}

Birthday Week

We celebrate Birthdays in weeks around the Prather house.  All week you get to pick meals, movies, and any activities. Saturday my parents came and took Chris, Caroline, Jacee and I to Joe's Crab Shack.  It was perfect for Caroline because they have an outdoor playground.

She had a blast! Lolly took her down the slide over and over again. They played chase with some older kids. She ate a lemon for the first time and loved it!  She made a hilarious face but then said "yum!" and kept on eating it.

My dad was telling funning stories about us girls.  One story he told was we always wanted to drive down this dirt road to our house and he would let us steer.  Below he is already teaching Caroline how to drive....

My actual Birthday {Monday} was great!

Caroline woke up at 5:20am and wished me a happy birthday!  She was ready to celebrate.

Chris sent these beautiful flowers to work Monday.  He now has a "flower" guy-  It is one of his State Farm customers.

My fellow Monterey counselors took really good care of me. They all brought cards with sweet messages in them.  The brought me lunch, made me a cake and sang obnoxiously every time I walked into a room.  It was awesome!

These are from Sunday afternoon.  It rained ALL day so we built a fort.  She built blocks, read, played with her puppets and Pip.

This week has been great!
