Ali is 4 Months Old

Ali is 4 months old today!
What I want to remember:
Her 4 month appointment is not until the middle of June but if I had to guess I would say she weights  about 12 to 13 lbs
Size 2 diapers
Size 3 M clothes
I have been taking her to daycare in jammies everyday for 3 reasons:
1. She doesn't like anything on her belly
2.  School keeps the baby room on the cool side and the girl DOES NOT like to be cold
3. Two kids has proven to be harder then I anticipated getting ready in the morning and taking baby girl  in pajamas makes life easier.

Ms. Crystal at school says Ali likes to play on the floor as long as their is a friend to talk to. She loves to talk and have an audience.  Her favorite person is Caroline. Caroline is really sweet with her sister.  She tries to include her in her imaginative play.

"Here you go Ali you can put your chew toy on top of my castle" was a frequent conversation I over heard last week.... Ali sometimes plays the role of a dragon/ wolf and Caroline hides from her or they are both puppy friends and Caroline asks if Ali can drink out of bowl on the floor. She always gets to be in Caroline's pretend class and take naps with the other stuffed animals.

Ali had cereal for the first time yesterday and ate it great. About an hour later it seemed to hurt her stomach so I think we will hold off until her appointment.

Other then her episode last night she seems to be feeling so much better.  She smiles and laughs all the time.
She desperately wants to sit up which is why she likes her jumper and bumbo
She rolls and reaches for toys to play with.

For the most part she sleeps through the night (till 6 AM)
and takes 3 naps a day
She is most content in the baby Bjorn

Gardening

We planted Caroline and Ali's garden 2 weeks ago.  Just in time for all the rain to come.  We haven't had to water.  This bummed Caroline out her favorite job is keeping the flowers watered.

She likes helping outside.

Today Daddy and Caroline caught a frog.  Caroline liked the frog in the bucket and squealed every time it jumped.

In other Prather news:

Ali rolled from her back to her front.  She looked really surprised when it happened.  Caroline and I cheered for her.  Also she likes to hold her own bottle.

This is how Caroline writes her name.

Left to Right: Kristen, Ky, Gail, Tamara, Kim, Katina
Saturday afternoon we graduated 437 seniors from Monterey.  Glad it is over! It was really smooth.  Tom didn't make the picture because he was searching kids for contraband. Apparently students a couple of years ago thought it would be hilarious to release mice during the ceremony.  So now each person has to be searched.

Tonight we celebrated Mimi and Papaw's birthday

Papaw and Ali watching NASCAR.

Caroline loves birthdays for 3 reasons:
1. Blowing out candles
2. eating frosting
3. Helping others open their presents

Rock- N -Railway Run

Chris Prather State Farm was one of the sponsors for the Rock-N-Railway run. The money goes to Asian Partners International to help rescue and care for  abandoned children in India.  Caroline and I participated last year.  This year Ali joined us in the baby bjorn. I should have brought Caroline's bike because a lot of her church friends were riding their bikes and scooters.

Caroline was excited to get her own race shirt and race bib but she was even more thrilled to play on the playground afterwards.  Jacob and Caroline found a lady bug that they played with. That became more entertaining then the slides.

Afterward we treated ourselves to Sheridan's ice cream. It was packed but worth the wait.

Ali tried on the sunglasses from Aunt Jacee.
Aunt Jacee also brought Ali and Caroline a little owl musical set and a bumble bee and lady bug lunch bag. The lunch bags were used all weekend for her class and the drum and xylophone were used to get the student's attention .

Look at those little cheeks!

Ali's Dedication

Yesterday was Ali's baby dedication at The Heights. Caroline was nervous to be in front of all those people.  She held onto her daddy tight.  Ali however was so excited to have an audience.

She "talked" the whole time we stood up. As we were praying she let out a loud "cooooooo".  Brandi {The children's minister} introduced us and Mike our pastor read her life verse.

Nana and Papaw & Lolly ,Granddad and aunt Jacee got to come too! This was the best part -having my babies surrounded by family.

Ali's best friend Andrea was also dedicated at the same time.  Both babies were dressed to impress in adorable dresses, bows and shoes! I love going through these experiences with Sara!

After church we went and ate at Rosa's for a mother's day lunch.

Caroline is apparently going through a growth spurt because she ate 2 bean burritos for lunch, drank a whole banana smoothie for an afternoon snack, dinner and then ate her weight in strawberries before bed.

My nephew Jaden was also dedicated at Dondi and Kyle's church in Vegas.  I got to watch it online at 1:00 Texas time. My sister is an amazing mom {I always knew she would be!}.  Dondi will be one of those moms where all of Jaden's friends want to hang out at his house.  She is laid back, & easy going- Nothing seems to bother her -{She is like Laura Carter in this way}  Then again I can also see her getting into a fight with another mom at a little league game because she will do anything to protect her cub.

Look at this little face- He is so adorable! I still have to wait 2 more months to squeeze those cheeks.

Other pictures from the week:

The little chicks hatched at the ag farm Thursday night.  I didn't get a picture of Caroline holding the chick.  It pooped in her hand so she decided she would just pet the rest.

Saturday the church had a princesses tea party.  The high school girls dress up like princesses and walked around and  talked to the little girls.  Caroline was starstruck and didn't say much until we got in the car.  The above picture made me laugh because it looks like Ali is cramming her face with a muffin.

Sitting at the cool table!

The city of Lubbock had this weird law on not letting food trucks in the city limits.  It is only recently that they could even set one up. Saturday afternoon daddy took his girls to eat from a food trucks event.  We all picked Mexican food.  Caroline ate a chicken "fijit-o" burrito.  I got one too. Chris got a steak something or other that was greasy and good.  We also let Caroline pick any flavor of snow cone from another truck. We met Sara and Andrew there.  It was a really fun day.

In honor of Laura Carter:

My mom is one of the smartest, funniest, most creative, generous person I know.  If I can be like anyone in the world it would be my mommy!

Muffins With Mom

Today was Caroline and Ali's Muffins with mom at their school.  Ali was asleep in her car seat when I dropped her off so she was transferred to her school's crib to finish off her nap.  Caroline and I went into the cafeteria for our muffins.  She wore her crown that my cousin Taylor gave her but took it off as soon as the camera came out.  She also brought her stuffed rabbit that she named Robert. (She is really into naming things!) He sat next to us as we ate. It was really fun eating with her.

Caroline this morning with her crown.  Her black eye is still lingering.

Ali also sporting the crown per the request of her sister.

Also today we went out to the MHS ag farm to see the baby goats that were born last week.  They are very friendly. One of the little goats is bottle fed so it followed us around the whole time.  He was Caroline's favorite.  Ali hung out in the baby bjorn.  One day she will be down there with her sister.

The Ag teacher was out there with a couple of students and told Caroline one of the names of the smallest baby girl was named Paisley.  This prompted her to name the rest.
Caroline:"That little guy's name is Kee kee and his sister is coco"

We also saw the chicks, cows, a turkey and the rabbits.

Shiner

Caroline got her first black eye on Monday.  I tried to get a good picture of it but it is hard to see how dark it is.

When we got in the car I asked her " Caroline what happened?!?"
Caroline: (in a very serious voice} "I ran into a monster!"
Me: "Oh no what was the monster's name?"
Caroline: "His name is Kurt & I ran into his chin & I only cried a little bit.".

This was from today- She still had a black eye.  Poor kid

Some pictures of the sisters:
