Colorado Part I

We had the best time with the Falcos this week!  We left from home on Saturday morning in a rented suburban for a road trip to Southwest Colorado.  We stopped at the ABQ Zoo to give the kids a nice break out of the car.  The kids loved it!

Caroline's favorite animal this time was the polar bear.  The polar bear jumped into the water doing a cannon ball almost like a cartoon character and started playing with this giant grey ball. Caroline talked about the polar bear biting and playing with the ball all week.

Just for Mimi- they had the New Mexico State bird the road runner everywhere.
We ate really good for dinner and then got the kids in the car for the second leg of the trip.  We got in late Saturday night after having lots of great road stories and we were glad to be at the mountain house.

The first day we laid low playing and hiking around the house. Sam and Caroline had a blast playing tag up and down the deck.  This house was amazing!

While hiking Caroline discovered huge dandelions.  Here is the perfect pictures of how to properly blow a dandelion.

Chris, Caroline and I made dinner the first night.  It was really fun going back and forth cooking for each other. Caroline is making our half baked potatoes.

Finishing off a great day eating outside.

  1. The polar bear was incredible, but you forgot to mention Chris shouting about it and you and I freaking out because we thought something bad had happened! Luckily no children were dropped into the enclosure (my secret zoo nightmare)
