Friday Night I was invited to Painting with a Twist with some friends. I had never been so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pumped that Sara was able to go too! We all started with a blank canvas. An instructor guided us through making the same masterpiece simply called the ornament painting. Our instructor was an art teacher at an elementary teacher here is town- she was hilarious and very patient.
We started out with chalk and outlined our pictures. She would say, "go up 2 fingers, draw a line. Now go up two hand lengths draw another line." Mina, who was sitting next to me, had a tiny ornament because her hands are so little. The painting part was very therapeutic and fun. They all looked similar but each had a unique twist to them.
Saturday:
After I put Caroline down for a nap Saturday Afternoon: Jacee and I went to The Mudroom to finish up my last Christmas presents. I have been trying to get there to make these plates for weeks but it has been so crazy I haven't had time. Jacee choose a coffee cup that turned out really good. I'll post my finished products after Christmas so I don't ruin any surprises.
I'm not the only one in my family who was artsy this weekend. Caroline made her own masterpiece by coloring all over some scrap paper. She even helped me wrap a present & with permission colored all over it with a marker. She LOVES markers. She thinks they are special because she doesn't get to play with them very much.
Aunt Kelley bought Caroline a play dough farm for Christmas. Her cousin Lane showed her how much fun play dough can be. He loves play dough and passed that love onto Caroline. She used the cow and chicken cookie cutters to mold the play dough. Crafty Kid!

Artsy weekend all around!! Glad you and C could be so crafty all day! Love y'all
