We celebrated Mimi's birthday Saturday with a cookout. Papaw made really good burgers and Kelley made cheesy potatoes . Caroline made sure that while Papaw was grilling he wasn't dehydrated. She doesn't like to spill her tea when I put real water in the kettle so she was really concentrating.
After we ate, Mimi let Caroline blow out her birthday candles.
As you can see by her face she is really proud of her accomplishment and immediately rewarded herself with a little chocolate cupcake. (icing first of course).
Happy Birthday Mimi!
This was the first year I was compelled to join a neighborhood pool. There is a pool right down the street from my school and has a lot of great toddler/ small child features:
mini Splash park
Fun slide/ swing area with a picnic area
walk in baby area.
All things Caroline approved. On Sunday we tried it out-
First Stop: Red Mango- then off to the pool. I knew almost all the lifeguards because they go to MontereyHS ( all of which I feel very comfortable with saving my life)
Before we got in we had "the talk" -it went something like this:
Mom: Caroline we are going to have a great time and can come back all summer long to swim
Caroline: YEAH Sh-WIMMING!!!!!
Mom: We will have fun but we have to listen.
Caroline: Sh-WIMMING!!!! Fun!!!! HAHAHAHa!
Mom: Yes, we will swim but when mommy says something you need to do it right away or we will leave for the day.
She must have believed me because she didn't fuss when I gave the 2 minute warning.
She did ask me "right back pool?" As long as you say "right back" she seems to be satisfied with this answer. I wonder how long this will last?
Lastly we got to see Lolly and Grandad last night. Just a little "ride little pony" on Lolly's leg before bed.
