Homeschool Week One

First week of homeschooling is in the books.  At the beginning of last week I handed out 900 IPADS to students at North Elementary. It has been really weird not going back and getting ready for STAAR.  I really miss my students & teachers.

Our homeschool schedule has been pretty easy to keep up with up.  We sat down and decided on a schedule.  Ali was pretty insistent that it was PJ everyday but didn't have an opinion on much else.

We make a priority for PE

And Art everyday and the girls do their piano for music.
Both kids have done their work without much prompting

Ali laid on my back while I finished up a guidance lesson.  Caroline helped me with a keynote project and helped me post it to google classroom.

I counseled kids everyday though google meets so I am currently still showering and getting dressed every morning and at least wearing a nice shirt.  I wear nike shorts or  athletic pants underneath the camera's eye . I feel like this is what news anchor's do .

Art this day was rock painting.

We turned our playroom into a classroom

Another PE day.  7 laps around our park is one mile.  The  girls skated a mile.

Caroline was working with money this week.  Lucky for us Papaw has given her lots of $1 & $.50 coins.  Caroline had manipulatives to work with.

We had to take Pip to the vet to get her stomach pumped of ponytail holders, Caroline is holding the contents of her stomach.

Pip got to come home Tuesday looking smug but followed Caroline around so glad to be home.   The vet said Pip was angry at them the whole time.

Mask ART project

Pip has become the class pet and joins us for morning meeting.

Ali had to send her sorting work to her teacher.  She then ate her math manipulatives.

Caroline taught Ali how to ride on the hooverboard.

We got the pool out on a 85 degree day.  It was chilly but the girls didn't seem to mind.

Ali and I have have been playing lots of games.  She really likes guess who.

We finally got the Easter stuff out

and made Jell-O

  1. Ok - we are basically doing the same stuff, just 5 hours apart! Jack LOVES Guess Who, we've been painting rocks, and both boys love counting their money like Scrooge. We've been watching Lord of the Rings with Sam (Jack happily watches PBS kids with headphones) - we talked a lot about that quote with Sam and how relevant it is for what we are all going through right now.
