This long week was great and a fun way to start the month of July. Caroline liked the fireworks more this year and really got into the sparklers. Ali also liked the sparklers and had heavy supervision while waving them around.
Neither girls are into the loud popping ones so we stuck with small tanks, fountains, parachute men and sparklers.
Nana gave the girls matching outfits. We have been wearing them as bathing suit cover ups so we can get the most out of wearing them.
Monday, July 4th
We went to the 4th on Broadway parade and festivities. Here is Ali waiting for the parade to start- Feet kicked up, One shoe on & gold fish in her hand. The girl knows how to relax.
Aunt Jacee came with us. She found us a great parking spot right up in front so we could see the floats. Aunt Jacee and Caroline caught candy and even a bag of chips!
After the parade we headed for the food trucks. Aunt Jacee and I got roasted corn, Caroline and Ali got corn dogs.
Ali went into the petting zoo part. She ran around trying to catch a duck but settled for petting the pig because the ducks were too fast. Caroline didn't want to go inside the pen so her and Aunt J rode the horses.
Then the bounce houses opened. Caroline's favorite part!
I shared my corn on the cob with Ali while Caroline had a blast on the bounce houses.
After the all this fun Ali was ready for a nap. So we dropped Aunt Jacee off and everyone got to rest. In the afternoon we went over to Nana, Mimi and Papaw's house for more 4th fun. Papaw smoked a great brisket.
Then we had watermelon for dessert
Here is Caroline roaring at Papaw. They are playing monsters. Caroline's imagination is really amazing and she becomes these characters she is playing.
Ali didn't really like the watermelon but Caroline ate 2 pieces
When we got home Dad set off small fireworks. Caroline held Ali's hand so she wasn't scared.
It was a fun 4th of July

Sweet girls! I get to see them in less than 2 weeks!!!
