Denver with my Love

On July 15 Chris and I have been married 10 years.   Chris earned a huge honor in the Statefarm world and the awards ceromony was in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor Hotel Thursday- Saturady.  Chris set up a couple of days in Denver before hand just the 2 of us to celebrate 10 years of marrage.  Nana and Papaw kept the girls the first half of the week and Lolly and Grandad kept them the back half.  The girls loved every minute and had a blast!

Chris got us a direct flight into Denver early Monday morning so when we landed we went and ate breakfast at a local favorite called Snooze. The line was out the door but we only waited 15 minutes for a seat. The breakfast was amazing and then we went to the natural history museum and spent rest of the afternoon walking a leisurely pace, holding hands and stopping to read anything we wanted. Chris also got us a great hotel right in the heart of downtown.  There was lots to see and do. My favorite  place in Denver was Capital Grill in Larimer Square.  The food was great the company was better.
On Tuesday it was Chris's birthday. We went to Red Rock Ampitheater in the morning.  There wasn't anyone preforming but during the day it was still full of people.  We also went on a hike around the area.

After finding a chick fila for Lunch we went  to the Denver zoo.

We sent this  picture to Amy because she hates bears so we needed to show our support.

Chris's birthday dinner at Texas de Brazil.  He makes 32 look good!

On Wednesday we toured the Denver Bronco Stadium. The tour guide was hilarious and very knowledgeable. For lunch we ate downtown at this Mexican restaurant. Chris is particular about his hot sauce and he loved it! Wednesday night we went and saw Ghostbusters. I really wanted to see it and was glad we were able to go.

Thursday we got up early and drove to Colorado Springs and then kept going up to the top of Pikes Peak.

On top of the world.  We ate a Pike's Peak famous donuts and headed to to town.

We stopped at the North Pole amusement park: Fun Fact both Chris and I have been here as little kids. Chris remembered the slides- I remember puking on the tilt of whirl: fun times.
Thursday night Chris surprised me with the laser light show at the cave of wonders. I must have talked about it a lot these 10 years because it meant a lot that we went.

Friday Morning we went and toured the Olympic training center. There are a few mind blowing technologies that these athletes get to train with..

Friday was the award banquet

Without embarrassing him too much I will just say how proud I am of him.  He worked so hard to get here and it was cool to see other people honoring his accomplishments. We skipped the dance that Statefarm put on to go bowling.

It was way more fun!  We split cheese flies and had a milkshake and stayed up way to late.

I had the best week with Chris! I laughed until I cried and my side hurt so many times on this trip. Besides being one of the funniest people I know Chris is kind and generous & works hard to take care of his family. Caroline and Ali have the best example of what a husband looks like and how they should be treated. I love him so much and was glad to have the week with him all to myself.
