Troop 6444 took their first field trip to fire station 19. Last week we talked about respecting authority and the girls earned their first flower petal patch after visiting the fire station this week.
They learned fire safety and what jobs the firemen do. Most of the girls liked spraying the fire hose - Caroline dropped the firehose mid-spray almost getting the firemen wet.
One of the firemen dressed up in the full firemen gear and talked through the oxygen mask. It sounded like Darth Vader when he talked. He told the girls if you are in a fire and hear or see someone like this to run and hug them because they are there to help. They learned lots of great tips and reviewed fire safety.
Then the girls got to go inside the fire truck. I asked Caroline if you wanted to climb the 100-foot ladder she said, "Yes! That looks fun!". I was, of course, kidding with her but she really wanted to. We watched one of the firefighters climb the ladder instead.

Troop 6444 had a great time!
Tuesday morning Ali told me she wanted to wear underwear on her head to school and this morning she wanted a crown. That girl is so silly!
