Star of the Week

In Pre-K every student gets a whole week were they are showcased.  At the beginning of the year Ms. B gave all the parents a schedule so there were no surprises.  This week was Caroline's week.  She was pumped!! Last Wednesday she told me she wanted to paint her poster then glue her pictures on it. She decided she wanted to use her favorite colors {which is all of them right now}
Funny thing she said while painting:
"Mom, this purple speaks to my soul"...... Ha! That kid says the best things!
I printed a few pictures of our family for her and then we made a list of all her favorite things and I printed them off the computer.

She glued everything except her name on the paper and she was very proud of the finished product!

Monday: Caroline got to stand in front of the class and show her poster and tell everyone about her favorite things

Her favorite things include:
Family
My Little Ponies
Play-doh
fruit
popcorn
gymnastics
Frozen
I printed out the soccer ball and she put it on the poster but she made me aware that soccer wasn't her favorite but playing outside was.

Tuesday: She got to bring a toy for show and tell

Caroline brought her coyote named Cookie she got from the Grand Canyon to share. Ms. B said she told the class that she and her dad like to howl like coyotes in her fort (They really do this when we play in the backyard)

Wednesday: Favorite book

Caroline brought Going on a Bear Hunt.  Because she has this memorized, she now "reads" this book to Ali. I thought she might bring a Junie B Jones book or Hank the Cow Dog but she went back to her tried and true favorite.

Also on Wednesday at 10 am Caroline went home with an ear infection. All high schools were giving the PSAT so I was able to take her straight to the doctor, (where they confirmed she had a massive infection), grabbed her medicine and went back up to school in time for teachers to turn in materials.

She wasn't running a fever and was in great spirits she was able to help take pencils, erasers, and the cups teachers use to signal they need a break. At lunch I ran Caroline home where dad took over.  He said she rested and felt better.

Thursday for Star of the week: Students get to eat in classroom with a friend.  Caroline chose Brooklynn and Hazleigh.

Proud of our Star of the Week!

Thursday,October 13th was Grandparents lunch at school.  Nana and Papaw made a quick trip to Lubbock to eat with Caroline.  She talked about it all Thursday how cool it was that Nana and Papaw were at her school.  Aunt Kelley was there the day before at walking Wednesday.

Minus the ear infection Caroline has had a great last couple of days!

Also this week:

Ali started riding her trike this week.

She can't touch the pedals but she had a great time wearing the helmet and making the lap around our park. She is territorial of the bike - a little boy down the street, who is her exact age, tried to jump on it at the park.  She came running up to Chris and I and started explaining in toddler language that she did NOT appreciate him riding her bike.  She disgustedly pointed at the boy and started angrily  saying "bike, no, no, no, more baby gibberish, BIKE!!!".  We tried to explain sharing but she was not having any of it!

 sun glasses

He ear is feeling better!
