Barcelona

Nana came late Monday night because we had to leave so early the next morning. We got a call from American Airlines late saying our flight to Dallas was cancelled. We switched gears, got up at 5:30 and drove to DFW.  I have never been on an international flight before.  We got on the plane at 3:00 pm and Arrived in Barcelona, Spain at 7:00am.  There is a 7 hour time difference so it was weird getting the day started when my body was telling me it was 12:00am.

Some fine international cuisine courtesy of Omni Airlines.

We couldn’t get on the boat until 11:00am so State Farm took us on a tour of the city.  Barcelona was beautiful!  The most interesting site was seeing the 1992 Olympic park.

We also saw the Sagrada Familia  it has been under construction since 1882. The Architect who started the project was Antoni Gaudi.  His buildings were everywhere but he was most famous for this church. I would have loved to go inside but we didn’t have time.

Something I didn’t expect to see were dogs everywhere. There were tons of people that walked there dogs into restaurants and shops and a few lucky ones rode on the back of mopeds or shotgun in their smart cars.
On the ship we somehow made it to the emergency drill and then went to sleep.  The first night hardly anyone was out eating apparently everyone turned in early.
